I have been working on a new book for about a month or so. I actually wrote out the synopsis some time in June, and put together the outline in July before starting the actual writing progress. Last week, I was so excited with the progress of the book that I decided to share the action scenes with my son. The book began as a paranormal romance, so I thought that he didn’t want to hear the mushy scenes, etc. When I finished reading the action scene, he looked at me and said, “What is this story about again?”
So I told him what it was about and he looked at me and said, “I don’t believe it.”
“What? What’s not believable?”
“If the dude is ex-military, he’s not going to be carrying around something as wimpy as a .357!”
So with the help of my son, I changed his weapon of choice, and in the end, after a few more suggestions from him that made me think about my character more, I changed the entire premise of my book. No longer is it a paranormal romance. It’s more horror/paranormal with some romance thrown in to balance it out. Or at least I think that’s what it is.
Either way, the new book will be awesome when it is finished. I am still working on the 1st draft. At this time, I don’t have a tentative date that it will be out. I will post more on that once I have it together.
