Generally, during the summer, I have a chance to get caught up on writing, proofreading, and reading. Not this summer.
I have managed to work on writing and proofreading, but I have not had a chance to enjoy reading just for pleasure. I’m hoping that changes now that July is here, but I’m not going to hold my breath. Of course, I have managed to catch up with some TV. I always tell my students that I do not watch TV, and I don’t. There are a small number of shows that I actually DVR during the school season: Once Upon a Time, The Pioneer Woman, and NCIS. Those are shows that I enjoy watching. I can usually catch up on watching them on a Saturday, and I don’t feel guilty for having watched about 2 1/2 hours of television (I love fast forwarding through those commercials!).
This summer, I’ve had a chance to get hooked on a lot of shows that I don’t normally watch. Some on the Disney channel, some on the cooking channels, and some on regular TV. I may be doomed this coming school year! But I DVR them and when I have a chance, I sit down to watch. If not, I’m not going to sweat missing a show.
I’m hoping that this week I’ll have to opportunity to sit down and post pictures that inspired a book I’ll be writing and that I hope will be out next summer. Plus, I have the cover of the book finished that will be available by the end of this month. July is shaping up to be super busy, and I’m excited about it!
Like I said, “What summer break?” I’ve been busy!
