Motivation Monday: Freedom

Presented Flag

When my father passed away on April 2nd of this year, I sat in his memorial service and the Marines presented me with this flag. In that moment, I thought about all the family members of servicemen and women who have been handed that same folded emblem of service.

On this July 4th, as we celebrate our Independence, remember that the price of our Freedom did not come freely. We fought a battle after declaring our Independence. To protect that freedom and independence, there are still men and women who are fighting that we would be able to maintain it.

Do not desecrate this emblem of freedom. It was bought at a very high price, much like our Salvation. Not everyone is willing to stand in the gap, but some were and still are. Make a difference, and make sure that you are truly appreciative of the freedom that you do have.
